On October 24th and 25th I had the opportunity to attend and support the 2019 St George and Sutherland Hospital’s Maternity and Breastfeeding Conference, with a Reflex 2 Health information stand. I was very happy to provide midwifery-based pregnancy reflexology hand-outs, while talking to local and regional midwives, post-natal care specialists and early parenthood consultants.
The conference and specific presentations addressed a wide range of topics on prenatal, antenatal, and early parental support issues, with a particular emphasis on evidence-based research and support tools for industry, plus program delivery resources.
A presentation by Dr Nicole Highet, Executive Director of the Centre for Perinatal Excellence spoke to the Ready to COPE Program on resourcing new parents. It’s an online plus direct support contact point for new mums and dads. If you’re interested, find out more here: www.readytocope.org.au or ask for more information next time you're in the Reflex 2 Health clinic.
Sharing the stand space with people from the NSW Get Healthy program, Barbara May Foundation Ethiopia Midwives Training & Community Program, plus others, made it a most enjoyable time.
